2020 Nissan LEAF

What's New For the 2020 Nissan LEAF?

For ten years, the Nissan LEAF has led the charge toward the era when everyone will drive electric vehicles. This year's edition continues the revolutionary model's second generation. Nissan carried over all of the previous model year's features to the 2020 LEAF.

We love the LEAF at our dealership. It provides fun test drives and often surprises people who have never driven an EV.

What Are the LEAF Trims & Features?

As in other years, Nissan offers the 2020 LEAF in three trims - S, SV, SL - with two available versions: the regular LEAF and the LEAF Plus.

The base level S trim starts with notable features such as the 40-kWh lithium-ion battery, auto emergency braking, and traffic monitoring e-pedal. When moving up in trim to the SV, you'll find voice-guided navigation, NissanConnect EV interface, and full compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. At the top trim level of the Nissan Leaf is the SL. On this trim level, it offers luxurious features for quality sound with the seven-speaker premium Bose audio system, heated front seats, and leather upholstery. In terms of convenient features, the 2020 LEAF SL is equipped with a blind-spot warning system. Opting for the LEAF Plus versions of the S, SV, or SL offers standard and available features such as an upgraded powertrain, remote start, and an eight-inch touchscreen. You can also add on the All-Weather Package or Technology Package for even more outstanding features and amenities.

Raw Power and Stellar Performance

In LEAF's Plus trims, you can enjoy 214 horsepower from a 160-kilowatt motor. This setup can travel up to 226 miles between charges. Every Plus trim also charges faster.

The other trims offer 147 horsepower, which is ample for the LEAF's hatchback body. A 110-kilowatt engine provides this power level.

In any 2020 Nissan LEAF, you will notice engaging acceleration capabilities. While conventional engines must wind through gears to access their maximum horsepower, Nissan's EV gives you instant access to every bit of power held within its motor. Expect to be surprised by how vivaciously a LEAF jumps off the line.

The 2020 Nissan LEAF Has a Long List of Safety Features

Bringing a mass-produced EV to the American marketplace ten years ago presented new safety challenges. Nissan thoroughly met those. Notably, the automaker builds tech into the LEAF that disconnects the battery from the motor if an airbag deployment occurs. This function keeps you safe inside your LEAF's cabin if you have to wait for help from emergency services.

Of course, the newest LEAF surrounds you in more-advanced airbag technology than the first units that rolled off the line with the same nameplate ten years ago. Your LEAF will also help you avoid collisions. To that end, every LEAF features anti-lock, disk brakes. The line's available collision-avoidance options can also help you dodge incidents.
