What's New For the 2019 Nissan Maxima

The 2019 Nissan Maxima has been refreshed with a number of exterior and interior features. Starting with the exterior, the Maxima receives a bigger front grille, a new rear fascia with reshaped tail lights, new LED headlights, new optional 19-inch wheels and a new Sunset Drift paint color. On the interior, the Maxima receives more premium materials on the dash and the seats. This year, the Maxima also receives a Platinum Package with a diamond-quilted leather, satin bronze interior trim, 19-inch wheels and heated rear seats. On the SR trim, the Maxima adds orange-accented Alcantara, orange stitching, and dark satin trim pieces.

2019 Maxima Offers Six Trims & an Abundance of Features

The Nissan Maxima offers 6 trims. The entry level S trim offers the following standard features: LED headlights with LED signature Daytime Running Lights, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™ and Automatic Emergency Braking. The SV trim includes all the features of the S trim plus Nissan Door to Door Navigation with Premium Traffic, Intelligent Cruise Control, Leather-appointed seats, Heated front seats and Blind Spot Warning.

The SL trim includes features from the SV trim plus 19-inch by 8.5-inch gloss black aluminum-alloy wheels, Paddle shifters, Sport-tuned suspension with retuned dampers, stiffer springs and larger front stabilizer bar, Premium Ascot Leather-appointed seats with dynamic diamond-quilted Alcantara® inserts and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. The Platinum trim includes features from the SR trim plus 19-inch by 8.0-inch machine-finished aluminum-alloy wheels, NissanConnect® Services powered by SiriusXM® , Premium Ascot Leather-appointed seats with diamond-quilted leather inserts, Memory System - driver's seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors and Rear Automatic Braking.

The top of the line Platinum Reserve trim includes features from the Platinum trim plus 19-inch by 8.0-inch dark hyper silver aluminum-alloy wheels, Semi-aniline Leather-appointed seats with dynamic diamond-quilted leather inserts, Charcoal headliner, Heated rear seats and "Satin Bronze" faceted interior trim.

What is the Performance Like for the Nissan Maxima?

2019 Nissan Maxima Exterior FrontThe 2019 Maxima comes with a standard 3.5 Liter, V-6 engine that offers up to 300 horsepower with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). This powertrain is available, as standard, on all six trims of the 2019 Maxima. On 0 to 60 miles per hour acceleration tests, the 2019 Maxima is able to achieve a time of 5.7 seconds.


Which Safety Features are Available on the Nissan Maxima?

Standard features include Nissan's Advanced Airbag System, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Lane Intervention, 3-Point Driver and Passenger Seat Belt System, LATCH (Lower Anchor and Tethers for Children) System, and an Energy Absorbing Steering Wheel Column. All trim levels of the 2019 Maxima will also include Nissan Shield 360, a suite of advanced safety features. Features in the Nissan Shield 360 system include pre-collision braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams and rear automatic braking.
