Whether you are looking for a compact or full-size cargo van for your business or a passenger van to fit the whole family, Nissan's line-up of commercial vehicles has a model to fit your needs. This model year, the cargo and passenger vans receive an upgraded V8 engine, which increases output for an even higher maximum payload and towing capacity.

NV Models, Trims & Features

The 2017 Nissan NV200 in Phoenix is the best option of the bunch for those who need a light-duty van that can maneuver around the city with ease, while hauling a maximum payload of 1,480 pounds. Available in two trims, S and SV, some of the standard appointments include sliding side doors, 40/60-split rear cargo doors, a fold-flat passenger seat and wide-angle spotter mirrors. Bluetooth audio and phone connectivity is optional.

For those seeking a heavy-duty commercial van, the full-size NV Cargo 1500, 2500, or 3500 is sure to fit the bill. Select models can tow up to 9,500 lbs. with a maximum payload of 3,937 lbs. Available in standard and high-roof variations, the NV Cargo comes in three trim levels: S, SV and SL. Base equipment includes 10 integrated ceiling cargo mounting points, six floor-mounted D-rings, 36 cargo mounting points for shelving and water-repellant upholstery. For those who do a lot of travelling and need an entertainment upgrade, the Technology Package (SV and SL only) adds a touchscreen with navigation and smartphone connectivity.

The NV Passenger is equipped to seat 12 passengers, although versatile seating allows the van to be reconfigured to carry more gear. With a maximum tow rating of 8,700 lbs., the van is perfect for both commercial use and large families. The NV Passenger also comes in three trims, S, SV and SL. The top-tier SL adds comfort-oriented amenities like heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, a touchscreen with smartphone integration, navigation and more.

Powertrain Options

The compact NV200 runs on a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 131 horsepower and 139 pound-feet of torque, sending power to the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission.

The NV Cargo and Passenger rear-wheel drive vans are available in two engine configurations. For lighter workloads and towing, the 4.0-liter V6 option makes a solid 261 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque. The second option, a new 5.6-liter Endurance V8, increases output to 375 horsepower and 387 pound-feet of torque. 2017 Nissan NV reviews note that the new V8 powertrain also decreases fuel consumption. A new seven-speed heavy-duty automatic transmission also becomes available this year, although the five-speed gearbox remains standard.

Safety Equipment

All body styles of the 2017 Nissan NV in Phoenix come with standard antilock brakes, front seat side airbags, side curtain airbags, and stability and traction control. All models can be had with front and rear parking sensors (rear sensors only on NV200 models), as well as a rearview monitor for added visibility when parking.
