The 2016 Nissan LEAF features a few updates this year that aim to improve the driving experience for all owners of the new EV. The popular model gains a new battery for 2016, upgraded NissanConnect systems and three new exterior paint colors. The addition of Coulis Red, Forged Bronze and Blue Pearl bring the number of available exterior paint options to eight, giving buyers more excellent shades to choose from when purchasing an all-new 2016 LEAF model. When it comes to technology, the 2016 Nissan LEAF in Phoenix doesn't disappoint. For the new model year, the EV gets standard NissanConnect with Mobile Apps on S trims, which also comes with a 5-inch color display. The SV and SL trims receive NissanConnect with Navigation and Mobile Apps, as well as a 7-inch display that also supports voice recognition. In addition to this system, SL and SV trims come standard with the NissanConnect EV system, allowing owners to remotely monitor the car's battery charge, begin charging the car, and turn on the A/C and heat.
New to the 2016 Nissan LEAF in Phoenix is a 30 kWh battery that delivers an EPA-estimated 107-mile driving range. Standard on SV and SL models, the new battery offers a higher capacity than the 24 kWh battery, which is outfitted on LEAF S models. To top things off, the new battery can be charged to 80 percent in just 30 minutes, giving drivers the ability to access more mileage quickly.
