ABC Nissan Previews the New Altima
The 2016 Nissan Altima has been heavily modified coming into the new model year. The midsize sedan, touted as Nissan's bestselling vehicle in North America, adopts the automaker's new "Energetic Flow" design language and offers a brand-new model: the SR. To improve safety, the Altima also receives additions to its collection of Safety Shield technologies this year, which includes Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Cruise Control and Forward Collision Warning. Featuring a new aggressive front fascia, revised hood and fenders, distinct character lines, LED boomerang-shaped headlights and an appealing V-motion grille, the 2016 Nissan Altima in Phoenix is looking its absolute best coming into the new model year. In an effort to attract more buyers and expand the Altima's offerings, a new SR trim is also now available on the midsize sedan for 2016 and suits drivers who enjoy sporty performance. Equipped with smoked headlights, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, paddle shifters and suspension tuning, the SR model brings a bit of flair to the Altima lineup. It also dons sport interior accents that complement the car's outer appearance.
Two engine options are offered on the 2016 Nissan Altima in Phoenix: a 2.5L inline four-cylinder and 3.5L V6. The former offers 182 horsepower, while the latter delivers an exceptional 270 horsepower. When outfitted with the 2.5L four-cylinder, the midsize sedan produces an EPA-estimated 39 mpg highway, which is a significant number for a car in its class.
