Both the Nissan Armada and the Nissan Murano were named segment winners in J.D. Power’s 2026 APEAL Study. While the Armada tied for first place in the Large SUV segment, the Murano earned the top spot in the Midsize SUV segment. The study is based on survey responses from drivers during their first 90 days of vehicle ownership. Some of the key factors evaluated include comfort, design, usability, and performance.
Nissan Armada
If you need a spacious full-size SUV that offers impressive off-road capability and outstanding on-road comfort, look no further than the Nissan Armada. Under its hood sits a 3.5-liter, direct-injected twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 425 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Built on a truck-based frame, the new Armada can confidently tow up to 8,500 pounds.
With six available trim levels, the Armada can satisfy a wide range of lifestyles. Outfitted with rugged features such as a metal underbody skid plate and an electronic locking rear differential, the adventurous PRO-4X trim comes ready to explore off-road terrain. For drivers who desire enhanced performance on the street, Nissan offers the track-inspired Armada NISMO. It comes equipped with several sporty upgrades, including a NISMO-tuned suspension designed to enhance handling.
Nissan Murano
There are many qualities that help set the new Murano apart from the competition. Its premium interior can rival those found in far more expensive models. Some of its available high-end features include massaging front seats, dual 12.3-inch display screens with Google built-in, and semi-aniline leather upholstery.
Performance is also a strong point for the Murano. Its advanced VC-Turbo engine produces a satisfying 241 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Intelligent all-wheel drive comes standard. Of course, the Murano also offers the latest driver-assistance technologies. Not only can hands-free ProPILOT Assist 2.1 automatically manage speed and steering in certain highway conditions, but it can also assist with lane changes.
