The annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon is coming to Downtown Phoenix this weekend. Starting Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, and running, pun intended, through Sunday, Jan. 15, the race, as well as several smaller races, will be must-attend events here in the Valley.
A fun and unique type of race, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon is a highlight on the Phoenix social calendar, bringing together runners and walkers of all abilities to hear live bands play them on at every mile. Local Valley residents will be able to cheer the runners on during every inch of the course, giving them the right encouragement to cross the finish line.
“While entertainment and the energy of a festival weekend define the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series experience, runners have raised more than $310 million for participating charities shows our heart and soul. Event weekends include a world-class Health & Fitness Expo and culminate with finish line concerts,” according to the event’s website.
This year, the charity that will benefit from the race is the renowned St. Jude organization that works to eradicate childhood cancers.
