2017 Maxima Top Safety Pick

Three of Nissan’s bestselling cars have earned Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The 2017 Nissan Altima, Maxima and Rogue all took home these awards, which highlight their tremendous safety records and high-tech equipment that make them ideal choices for family car drivers in the Phoenix area.

"Nissan is proud to have many of our North American-built vehicles recognized by IIHS for vehicle safety," said Michael Bunce, vice president, Product Strategy and Planning, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA). "As a full-line manufacturer, Nissan places the safety and security of Nissan vehicle owners and their passengers as its top priority. Considering that 85-percent of the vehicles we sell in the U.S. are assembled in North America, we are gratified to see the company's long-term investment in safety yielding results in these key vehicles receiving high marks from IIHS."

To earn a Top Safety Pick designation, a vehicle must earn a rating of “Good” in all five test categories. To receive the “plus” designation, a car must receive at least a “Superior” rating for its front crash prevention system, as well as a “Good” rating for headlight performance.
