The 2017 Nissan Pathfinder has a received 5-star safety rating as a part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administrations New Car Assessment Program. 2016 marks the third consecutive year in a row the Pathfinder has been able to nab this top honor, proving it is one of the safest full-size SUVs on the U.S. market today.

"This latest Pathfinder is designed to be everything customers want in a family adventure vehicle," said Michael Bunce, vice president, product planning, Nissan North America. "Pathfinder delivers a safe and secure driving experience that is now augmented with our Nissan Safety Shield suite of technologies."

Refreshed for 2017, the release of the new Pathfinder is a big part of Nissan’s “Year of the Truck” campaign. When it lands at ABC Nissan later this year, the SUV will be available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations, and come with a range of first-class safety features. Among these will include Nissan Advanced Airbag System, Intelligent Cruise Control, Moving Object Detection, Forward Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Warning. It will also feature Traction Control System, Vehicle Dynamic Control, and Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH).
