How do I replace my Nissan key fob battery?

The process of changing your battery may be unique to other vehicles from the same manufacturer, so you'll want to refer to your owner's manual before removing your current battery. You also want to take note of what specific battery type and size you need to have on hand before replacing your key fob battery.

Release the mechanical key inside of your fob using the release latch on the fob.

A small, flathead screwdriver will help remove the cover to the battery compartment. Before you remove the battery, take note of which direction the positive and negative sides are in.

Replace the old battery with a brand new battery. Pay close attention to ensure that you've put the correct side of the battery in first.

Regardless of what model you're replacing the battery for, you can generally use these instructions as a guide for the process. If you're having trouble or are confused with the process, feel free to contact ABC Nissan for more information. You can also bring your Nissan key fob into our service department for assistance.
